Sometimes, we lose interest in services we once loved, and that’s okay. If you’ve found yourself ready to part ways with your Max subscription (formerly HBO Max), it’s easier than you might think to cancel it.

How to Cancel Max on iOS and Android Devices
If you signed up for Max on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, you can cancel directly from those devices. Here’s how:
- Open the Max app and tap your profile icon. Go to Settings.
- Select Subscription > Manage Subscription > Cancel Subscription.
- Confirm by choosing Continue to Cancel, then tap Yes, Cancel Subscription.
How to Cancel Max on a PC
For those who signed up through a laptop, desktop, or even a mobile browser, you can cancel directly on the Max website:
- On the Max homepage, click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Subscription.
- Click Cancel Subscription, followed by Continue to Cancel.
- Confirm your decision by selecting Yes, Cancel Subscription.
How to Cancel Max Through a Cable or Streaming Provider
If you subscribed to Max via a third-party service such as a cable provider, or through devices like Roku, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire TV, you’ll need to cancel through that provider. Here’s how we canceled ours through Roku:
- Log in to your Roku account via a web browser (not the Roku app).
- Hover over your profile icon and select My Account.
- Under Payments & subscriptions, choose My subscriptions.
- Select Manage subscription, then choose Cancel.
If you’ve already canceled and wish to re-subscribe, there should be a Resubscribe option available.
How to Resubscribe to Max
If you change your mind and want to resubscribe to Max, it’s just as simple as canceling. On iOS or Android devices:
- Open the Max app, sign in, and select Renew Subscription.
- Choose your plan, billing period, and follow the instructions to complete your subscription through your device’s app store.
- Tap Start Streaming once done.
To resubscribe via the Max website, visit max.com, log in, and select Start Streaming if available, followed by Sign Up Now. Choose your plan, billing period, enter your payment details, and finish by selecting Start Subscription.
